Concerns I treat
What therapy with me looks like
If you think we might be a good fit, you’re welcome to schedule a free 15-minute phone or video consultation. You can reach out through the contact form, email me at admin@heydrq.com, or call (253) 785-9367. It’s completely fine to leave a message.
If we decide to work together, we’ll start by talking about what’s happening in your life and what you hope will change. We’ll identify and build on your strengths, clarify your goals, and develop a plan together.
Therapy may involve a one-time consultation, a short course of treatment, or ongoing sessions, depending on your needs. At some point, we may decide that our work is complete because you feel more equipped, less stuck, and closer to where you want to be.
Over the years, I’ve helped adults of many ages move forward despite difficult experiences and present-day challenges.
My perspective on life: keep growing, keep learning.
Treatment approaches
I draw from several evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to what works best for you. Here’s a bit about the methods I use:
-
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - Working with thoughts and behaviors to help you get closer to where and how you want to be.
-
Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy - Reducing distress, strengthening adaptive thoughts related to traumatic stress through desensitization and reprocessing, and clearing any related body sensations.
-
Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR) - Processing at an even deeper level of the brain - good for attachment trauma, preverbal trauma, and more.
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) - Helping manage OCD symptoms by facing fears (exposures) while resisting compulsions (responses).
-
Inference-based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for OCD (I-CBT) - Breaking down OCD by slowing down the process, challenging the faulty reasoning (inferential confusion) behind it, and taking power away from the OCD story.
-
Metacognitive Therapy (MCT) - Working with leaving thoughts alone, not scratching/itching the mosquito bite, or chewing the cud - whether it's with depression, anxiety, or OCD.
-
Clinical Hypnosis or Ego State Therapy (EST) - Getting into the zone or daydreaming with a purpose.
Each of these approaches offers tools and strategies to help you move forward. We’ll find what works best for you.
